On Tortola’s magnificent Ocean Coast are interesting resorts, a beach front campground and cozy cottages.

Accommodations are located on or near three beautiful beaches: Lambert Bay, Josiah’s Bay and Brewer’s Bay. See Tortola Villas for villas in this area.

Lambert Bay

Right on one of the finest beaches in the islands, Lambert Bay forms a lush tropical meadow ashore, with eight acres of resort grounds landscaped with hibiscus, oleander, seagrape, palms and large rocks.

Tortola’s newest resort, the increasingly popular Lambert Beach Resort (495-2877 web site) has 38 rooms and suites in triplex villas, some right on the beach.The view here is to Guana Island’s Monkey Point.

Featuring large living rooms and fully equipped kitchens as well as shaded balconies and verandas, the two and three bedroom villas have Spanish roofs, sand colored masonry walls, stained bare wood and ceramic tiled floors.

Each bedroom has a comfortable outside seating area and built-in refrigerator and wet bar.

Facilities include a clubhouse with books and video, a beautiful 5000′ lighted pool with swim-up bar, beach volleyball, children’s playground and lighted tennis courts.

Activities. Sea kayaks, boogie boards and snorkeling and tennis equipment are available to guests. For hire are surfboards, windsurfers, Hobie cats, sunfish and power boats as well as tours, flyfishing and scuba diving.

Josiah’s Bay

A short 5 minute walk takes you to the magnificent beach at Josiah’s Bay.

Brewer’s Bay

The Ronneville Cottages (494-3337) are the best kept secret of Brewer’s Bay. Known for the hospitality of their owners, Glandwell and Irene Parsons (who manage a third three bedroom villa), these two two-bedroom cottages are an ample, affordable and relaxing choice a short shady walk to the beach. A setting very much engulfed in nature!

A place to get in touch with nature, Brewer’s Bay offers an excellent beach in a largely undisturbed tropical setting.

Brewer’s Bay Campground (494-3463), Tortola’s only campground, has 22 prepared sites fully equipped with tents on platforms with beds and linen, propane lamp and stove, cooking utensils, ice chest, water container and a central bathroom. Bare sites are available also. The campground is right on the beach, the campsites under a tropical canopy.

ICIS Villas (494-6979), a few minutes from the beach, has affordable efficiency, one to three bedroom villas in West Indian decor with sitting area, full kitchette, balcony and bedroom. Two one bedroom units can be combined in a suite. The honeymoon suite has skylight and king size bed as well. Some units overlook the pool, ornamental bridge and waterfall fountain.
