A favorite relaxed island destination, the southern half of Virgin Gorda is a boulder-strewn plain with a sunny ambiance. Its central area, The Valley, has a village aspect centered around the Yacht Harbour, its portal to the world via the Sir Francis Drake Channel..

Fischer's Cove Beach Hotel (email, 5-5252), right on the beach in a beautiful setting a short walk from the Yacht Harbour, has eight beachfront cottages and other rooms. Fischer's Cove, originally the Flax family home, carries forward a tradition of hospitality.

The Wheelhouse a/k/a Ocean View Hotel (5-5230) has 12 affordable motel-style, air-conditioned rooms opposite the Yacht Harbour, with a nice balcony with seating in the back.
Bayview Vacation Apartments (495-5329), on a private road beside and behind Chez Bamboo, has three affordable, large two bedroom apartments with a large kichen with a cut through serving bar into a split level dining/living room decorated with rattan furniture and print fabric.

The large master bedroom has a king size bed, private balcony overlooking the Channel in the distance, a walk-in shower and an extra folding bed. The second bedroom has twin beds under a shed rolf with exposed beams, its own bath, extra folding bed and private balcony among the palms. A great family bargain!

Seven Jewels Manor (495-7424), one, two and three bedroom duplexes with living room, kitchen and separate dining room on Windy Hill overlooking the airport..
The Baths Area makes nature part of the architecture as giant smooth boulders are built right into dwellings and dining verandahs. Reaching out over beaches into the sea, these fascinating rock formations culminate in that stellar attraction, The Baths.
