Learning to Sail while in the islands is a
special treat. While novices can learn to sail, it is the sailor who already knows the
basics of sailing that stands to benefit the most. In a surprisingly short period of time
this sailor can learn to cruise the islands . Partly this is because the BVI is a
protected inland sea, and is consequently less demanding than most all of the Caribbean,
which requires ocean voyages. Also, by focusing on learning sailboat cruising itself, a
distinct set of skills, in the actual BVI cruising grounds themselves,
a sailor can quickly "open up" this world of incredible romantic adventure! This
is especially attractive to the modern active couple as well as the individual sailor.
